Opening Day: New Mexico Legislative Session 2015!

Tuesday I traveled to Santa Fe to witness the swearing in of 37 Republican representatives who helped us capture the House last November.  I joined hundreds in the House gallery watching history in the making.

After the swearing in of representatives, election of the Speaker of the House, Chief Clerk of the House (the Democrats sought to lengthen the process, by opposing the Republican majority’s nominee), Governor Martinez gave her State of the State address, focusing on unity and bipartisanship.

Below are highlights from opening day of the 2015 legislative session and Governor Martinez’ State of the State address:
