2015 Inauguration!

Santa Fe Gubernatorial Inauguration

Thursday, I had the honor of joining hundreds at the New Mexico Capitol for the 2nd Inauguration of Governor Susana Martinez!  Governor Martinez was joined at the formal ceremony and swearing in by Lieutenant Governor John Sanchez, Secretary of State Dianna Duran and newly-elected Land Commissioner Aubrey Dunn.

Governor Martinez placed a high priority on education and the economy in Thursday’s inaugural speech.  She said both parties need to work together to work in the best interest of the state!

The Albuquerque Journal reported that hundreds waited in a slow-moving line in the Capitol rotunda to greet the governor and her husband, Chuck Franco, and the other officials– Lieutenant Governor John Sanchez, Secretary of State Dianna Duran and Land Commissioner Aubrey Dunn…

Curtis Stevens, who traveled from Silver City with his family for Thursday’s events, lauded the tone of Martinez’s address.  “It was really very inspiring,” he told the Journal, “I think it was very encouraging.”

One of my favorite state Representatives John Zimmerman and Mrs. Zimmerman with Governor Susana Martinez and husband Chuck Franco. It was my honor to work on the John Zimmerman campaign in 2012 and 2014!  He won a victory in 2014, unseating an incumbent. Zimmerman’s victory was touted as “unexpected” this past November by national and state media.

New Mexico True Inaugural Ball

And my sole picture from the New Mexico True Inaugural Ball at the Albuquerque Convention Center.  Unfortunately, my phone saw fit to throw a couple of tantrums and refused to take pictures later in the evening, so this is the picture I took early in the evening.  The ball was attended by over 3,000 people and was a tremendous success!
