The Emails
At the end of May, Jamie Estrada, was indicted on charges of unlawfully intercepting wire communications and lying to the FBI during the course of the investigation. Estrada was a campaign manager for Martinez until she let him go at the end of 2009. In late 2010 Estrada used the username and password he had available from Gov. Martinez’ website domain and directed emails sent to the Martinez’ SusanaMartinez2010.com domain to an email of his own, purchasing the domain at this time.
Emails in Democrat Hands
The emails Estrada intercepted were eventually leaked and found their way to various Democrats and leftist groups including Jason Loera political consultant for current Democrat Party of New Mexico Chair Sam Bregman, AG Gary King (the abbreviation should mean ‘Aspiring Governor’ rather than Attorney General in this case), Independent Source PAC run by Michael Corwin and the Santa Fe Reporter (alternative left-leaning media).
The Santa Fe Reporter had been trying for some time to get emails from the governor’s office through FOIA when some of the emails (from this private domain) were dumped in their lap. Although some of the emails they received contained information which may have been technically subject to FOIA, many emails such as iTunes, underwear and personal bank information which were obviously not something which should be released to the media or the public.
Jason Loera (accused pedophile) one of the first to receive the emails leaked at least one email to trial lawyer Sam Bregman (and Democrat Party of New Mexico Chair) who used the email during a case involving a state employee who was fired by the governor’s administration.
More to Come
As this story unfolds, those following it can see that these are moves out of the Democrat play-book. In the case of people like Attorney General Gary King, the emails are used to discredit New Mexico’s Governor and further his own political designs (King is gearing up to run for governor). Likewise Sam Bregman (once a likely gubernatorial candidate himself) and Michael Corwin are no more than attack-dogs for the left who have used these leaked emails to stir up trouble.
A few stories pushed by the left and the right which distract from the underlying intrigue. The Downs story is a favorite rabbit trail of the left involving the The Downs Racetrack & Casino. Writers from the Santa Fe Reporter as well as Joe Monahan are frequently vocal on this one…along with their friend Michael Corwin. Republicans have found a couple interesting pieces along the way, most recently the indictment of Jason Loera. Loera (DPNM Chair Sam Bregman’s consultant) was caught with child pornography on his computer during the course of the investigation into emailgate.
Many involved in New Mexico media are biased toward the left insomuch that they may as well be considered Democrat operatives (similar to Milan Simonich who uses the same talking points as his Democrat friends on a regular basis as he pushes their agenda).
Gov. Susana Martinez has done an excellent job of running the state. The left, seeing that this governor (who is also the first Hispanic woman to ever become governor in our nation) has been successful, looks for anything that can be used against her. As with everyone in positions of leadership, mistakes have been made by he Martinez administration, and as is the habit of the left, this has lead to a coordinated attack. People, such as Gary King, using their political positions to further their own agenda have used illegally obtained sources as fuel.
…After all, to the left, the end justifies the means…
“Jason Loera (accused pedophile)”
where is the substantiation for this very serious accusation?
