This Barack Obama is no Ronald Reagan

Today, Obama’s second inauguration, was marked by the usual formalities.  Unlike Mr. Obama’s first inauguration there were far fewer people attending the festivities this year.

Obama was sworn into office on two Bibles which reportedly belonged to President Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr. respectively.  Myrlie Evers-Williams, who was picked to give the invocation after previous choices didn’t pass the administration’s Gay tolerance standard, delivered the invocation endeavored to remain politically correct by limiting her reference to God in the prayer and eliminating ‘under God’ from the pledge of allegiance.  While it has been estimated that nearly two million attended Obama’s first inauguration the count for today falls over a million less than that.  The pop-icon figure has fallen off the pedestal that he was once lifted onto by the masses.

There are still a few who continue to hold Obama in high regard, among them are the mainstream media which are his defense dogs and continue to rabidly uphold and defend him.  BuzzFeed’s Ben Smith has declared president Obama a ‘great’ president declaring that twelve years from now, ‘post offices, airports, federal buildings, parks, warships, overseas bases, drone flotillas’ will be named in Barack Obama’s honor and cited others in the media who have declared that Obama will be the new Reagan.  A reversal in the opposite extreme.

The facts remain that Obama’s second term is off to some strong opposition.  McConnell spoke out Saturday, ‘Their efforts to restrict your rights, invading your personal privacy and overstepping their bounds with executive orders, is just plain wrong.’  What exactly Sen. McConnell means by that and how strongly he will stand against Obama has yet to be seen.

One thing is certain, Obama has already promised to fundamentally transform America and he is accomplishing it.  His impacts have made changes that may be irreversible, from doubling the deficit to overhauling the way doctors care for their patients.  If we can take him at his word and judge by his actions since November we can expect more attacks on our traditional American culture and the values that have made our nation great.

This Barack Obama is no Ronald Reagan and is not similar in any way to the man that sought to return us to an America where taxes were low and we were free to grow as a Capitalist nation.

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”  Galatians 6:7
